Stress Overloads Nerves

There are three types of stress:

  • Physical Stress
  • Emotional Stress
  • Chemical Stress

Physical stress, like car accidents, falls and even the birth process can exceed your body’s ability to adapt. Same with emotional stress, such as grief, anger, fear and guilt. Chemical stress, such as poor nutrition, allergies, preservatives and alcohol can overwhelm your nervous system. This produces what chiropractors call a subluxation.

A subluxation is a $50 word that we Sioux Falls area chiropractors use to mean that the nervous system is in overwhelm, tightening muscles along the spine and elsewhere, interfering with the ability of your brain to communicate with your body.

Sometimes this produces pain. But you already know pain is not the problem!
